MusicMint Audio Tools privacy notice

Updated: October 13, 2026. This notice covers the MusicMint browser extension for Chrome and Microsoft Edge. MusicMint is operated by the individual proprietor trading as OceanAI Lab (oceanailab). Contact: [email protected].

Data used by the extension

The extension reads supported YouTube page details to display its audio controls and lets you choose a media link. Only links you actively submit are sent to MusicMint for processing. Audio files you upload are sent to MusicMint for transcription. These may contain personal information, including voices, so upload only files you are permitted to process.

The extension reads the MusicMint user_account cookie on musicmint.ai or www.musicmint.ai and uses its existing login token to authenticate requests to server.musicmint.ai. It does not read cookies from unrelated sites. Server requests include the selected media URL or audio, task identifiers and your account authentication. Music creation drafts are handed to the MusicMint website when you choose to continue.

Local storage and permissions

Settings may be stored using Chrome sync storage. Recent downloads, upload identifiers and processing tasks are stored locally in the browser profile. Downloads permission saves files you request; tabs opens MusicMint pages; contextMenus provides user-invoked actions; alarms restores pending task polling. Host access is limited to YouTube and MusicMint domains. The extension does not submit unrelated browsing history.

Processing and recipients

MusicMint processes your requests and account credit records. Media links and subtitle/transcription requests are shared with SnapAny to provide those functions. For transcription, SnapAny receives a temporary signed link to the selected audio file. Uploaded and converted files are stored in private Amazon Web Services object storage; download links may be time-limited. Original-file downloads, when available, go directly from the source media provider to your browser. The MusicMint website has its own privacy policy for website accounts, payments and music creation.

Retention and deletion

A temporary download link expiring does not mean the stored file has been deleted. Uploaded files, processed media, transcripts and task records can remain on MusicMint servers; this extension does not currently offer an automatic deletion schedule or a server-file deletion button. To request deletion of your files, task data or account-associated records, contact [email protected] and identify the account and relevant tasks without sending your login token. Some billing or security records may need to be retained as required by law. Third-party processing is also subject to the relevant provider's retention practices. Local extension data can be removed through the browser's extension storage controls or by uninstalling the extension.

Use limitations

Data accessed through the extension is used to provide its user-facing audio and media features, authentication, billing and task recovery. It is not used by the extension for advertising, sold to data brokers or used to collect unrelated browsing activity. Only process media you own or have permission to use, subject to the source platform's terms.
