허나 개경 조정은 끝내 항복의 명을 내렸다.

칼을 버리고 종이 되라 명했다.

하지만, 우리는 따를 수 없었다.

이 항전의 깃발을 내리는 순간,

고려가 사라지는 것에 분노했다.

잿더미가 된 강화의 성터에

매서운 바람만이 스치고

피 묻은 깃발을 다시 들어

우리는 바다로 길을 나선다

거친 파도 위, 흔들리는 배에

꺾이지 않는 혼을 싣고서

왕조는 없으나 우리가 살린다

하늘 아래 우리가 고려다 (굴복은 없다)

용장성에 뜬 붉은 달 아래

강력한 나라를 꿈꾸던 밤

덧없는 희망이라 하여도

불꽃처럼 모두 타올랐다

거친 파도 위, 흔들리는 배에

꺾이지 않는 혼을 싣고서

왕조는 없으나 우리가 살린다

하늘 아래 우리가 고려다 (굴복은 없다)

붉은 피로 물든 제주 바다

마지막 함성이 흩어지고

쓰러져가는 전우의 눈에

지키지 못한 한이 하늘에 맺힌다

항파두리 성벽은 무너지고,

김통정의 외침도 바람에 흩어졌다.

삼 년에 걸친 저항은 그렇게 끝이 났다.

역사는 그들을 반란군이라 기록했으나...

누군가는 기억하리

And set forth upon the sea.

Upon the rough waves, aboard the rocking ships,

We carry our unbroken spirit.

Though the dynasty may fail, we shall save the nation.

We are Goryeo under the heavens. (There will be no submission.)

Under the red moon that hung over Yongjang Fortress,

We dreamt of a powerful nation that night.

Even if it was but a fleeting hope,

It flared up in all of us like a flame.

Upon the rough waves, aboard the rocking ships,

The Jeju sea, stained with red blood,

The final shouts scattered on the wind.

In the eyes of a fallen comrade,

The fortress walls of Hangpaduri collapsed,

And Kim Tong-jeong's cries dispersed with the wind.

The three-year resistance ended just so.

History recorded them as rebels, but...
