drunter steht: Borowsky, Heck.

Korf erwidert darauf kurz und rund:
„Einer hohen Direktion
stellt sich, laut persönlichem Befund,

untig angefertigte Person
als nichtexistent im Eigen-Sinn
bürgerlicher Konvention

vor und aus und zeichnet, wennschonhin
mitbedauernd nebigen Betreff,
Korf: (An die Bezirksbehörde in — ).“

Staunend liest’s der anbetroffne Chef.

The Authorities

Korf replies, right on the dot:
"To the High Directorate's view,
The undersigned person—believe it or not—

Presents himself, upon personal review,
As non-existent in the sense
Of civil convention through and through.

Thus he declares, without defense,
Regretting the matter herewithal,
Korf: (To the District Office, hence—)."

The chief reads on, amazed by it all.
