Lyrics
This is a judgment on society, not individuals. I know medication can be useful for many. 🫶
Medication can be a very controversial topic. I don't need everyone to agree with me. You can state your opinion if you wish, but it's not a good place to debate other people's. While I think debates and discussions are very healthy for a society, turning this comment section into one will serve nobody.
Thank you 🙏

Lil’ Johnny's twitchin', can't sit still in his seat
His teacher's got a script: “sit the fuck down, Johnny!”
He’s bracin’, he’s pacin’, his mind’s racin’, he’s spacin’
“Out!” Shouts the asshole, frustrated and overreactin’
The school brings in the parents, says Johnny must be tested
There’s something wrong with his mind, can’t stay concentrated
Can’t sit still, can’t seem to listen, he’s always uninterested
So they ship him to a doctor, in whose hands a fate rests in
Take methylphenidate to stimulate
Increase the attention span of the sleepless
Take amphetamines to regulate
The hyperactive impulsivity of the restless
Then the hunger fades and his bones get brittle
Growth charts flatline, but lil’ Johnny has settled
Spends nights not sleepin’ and his days in blurry haze
His head pounds like war drums, his stomach twists in a blaze
A normal kid turned into a zombie, where'd his fire go?
Rebound rage'll hit hard when the dose wears low
Push pills for the wild ones, the system's sellin' sickness
Dull down normal symptoms and demonize the restless
Rules are made by scums, meds won’t cure their madness
Dope the dreamers numb, left to bask in sadness
Medicate all the fuckers, kill the spark in their eyes
Poison all the youngsters, internal fire dies
Give them all drug addictions
No playgrounds in which to thrive
Push for more drug prescriptions
No reasons to stay alive
Misfire diagnoses, thirty percent off-base, labels stem from trauma, poor sleep and dietary restraint
Schools push band-aid drugs ignoring fixable causes due to 'fucking idiots and unimportant time constraints
They don’t have broken brains, just environments that starve the soul's fire
Docs are paid to sling Ritalin rockets, all adhere to the Adderall empire
Stimulants starve 'em small and frail, appetite assassins in a candy-coated shell
Stunted frames, nutrient graves, self-hate swells, demonic mirrors reflecting a false teenage hell
Insomnia symphonies crash-landing into cranky comas by day
SSRIs siren-call suicide shadows, black-box bans ignored by the fray
Agitation amps up and hallucinations haunt the hall of the mind
Tics twitch like tripwires, rebound beasts with no breaks to unwind
Untrained teachers tossin' timed tests like grenades on creative mines
Schools are Stone-age cages, desks drillin' discipline into defiant spines
Take methylphenidate to stimulate
Increase the attention span of the sleepless
Take amphetamines to regulate
The hyperactive impulsivity of the restless
Hearts hammered hollow, hypertension heirs to the high-dose throne
Cortical carve-outs crank the crave for coke-lines when they're grown
Segregate the sparks, slap 'em with special ed that scars eternal
Suspensions for squirmin', cycles of crush, the system's infernal
Mood maelstroms from antidepressants, anxiety draggin' dreams down the deep
Weight wars waged in waistlines, diabetes demons from the sleep they can't keep
Pharma fuckers feast on the fallout, lobby lizards lickin' golden pots
Healthcare hemorrhages for head shrinks, as billions are bought and forgot
Victim veils drape the young, broken badges breedin' blues into brains
Holistic havens wait in the wings, but profit's the one pullin’ the chains
Overprescribe to fix the fidget, ignore all the fixable flaws
Diet demons, trauma tsunamis; band-aids for the jaws of the cause
Push pills for the wild ones, the system's sellin' sickness
Dull down normal symptoms and demonize the restless
Rules are made by scums, meds won’t cure their madness
Dope the dreamers numb, left to bask in sadness
Medicate all the fuckers, kill the spark in their eyes
Poison all the youngsters, internal fire dies
Give them all drug addictions
No playgrounds in which to thrive
Push for more drug prescriptions
No reasons to stay alive
Antidepressant anchors drag 'em into the deep
Activation agitators, secrets they can't keep
Tics twist the tongue, volatility volts through veins
Preschool punks pushed to the edge of their pains
Society scripts the sickness, schools seal the deal
Long-term losses, lost lives, broken wheels
From kid crashes to adult ashes, the bill comes due
Overmedicate the masses; what else you gonna do?
Push pills for the wild ones, the system's sellin' sickness
Dull down normal symptoms and demonize the restless
Rules are made by scums, meds won’t cure their madness
Dope the dreamers numb, left to bask in sadness
Medicate all the fuckers, kill the spark in their eyes
Poison all the youngsters, internal fire dies
Give them all drug addictions
No playgrounds in which to thrive
Push for more drug prescriptions
No reasons to stay alive
No pills in the playground
No fixes for the fire
We adapt or we die
Let the wild ones inspire
No crowns for the chemist
Tear the templates apart
Build worlds that can bend…
…Start with the beat of the heart
