Lyrics
Intro
[The heavy, mechanical thud heartbeat returns, but slower. A high-pitched, clean electric guitar riff loops like a distant call. A cello plays a low, dark chord that hangs in the air.]
Verse 1
The sky is bruised and the air is thick with smoke,
Every promise made feels like a cruel and heavy joke.
I’m walking through a valley where the shadows have a name,
And the demons in the corner are all fanning at the flame.
They reach out from the hollows, they try to trip my feet,
Whispering that "giving up" is a victory so sweet.
But I pick up the next board, without questioning the design,
Trusting that the Architect is holding up the line.
Verse 2
I’m reaching out my hand to the ones who walked away,
Whered they go now I’m standing in the middle of the gray.
They let me down, they broke the bond, they left me in the rain,
But I’m stitching up the silver threads inside the cloth of pain.
You ask me why I bother, why try to bridge the gap,
When every map I’ve ever followed was a god-forsaken trap?
It’s because the burdens heavy, but the strength is in the try,
And I’d rather die while building than just watch the world go by.
Chorus
And I’m building... stone by heavy stone,
Building... though I can’t call this foundation my own.
I’m a blind servant with a chisel and a rope,
Mixing up the mortar with my sweat and with my hope.
Against the wind, against the dark, against the rising flood,
I’m building something greater than just water and just blood.
It’s a fight, fight, fight for a design I’ll never see,
Whats the master have in store for me.
Violin Solo - "The Conflict of Faith"
[The violin starts high and frenetic, full of technical double-stops that mimic confusion and struggle. It sounds like someone desperately searching for answers they can't find. Gradually, a low, powerful organ-like synth enters the mix, grounding the chaos. The violin transitions from frantic scales to a simple, clean, hymn-like melody that rises steadily above the heavy guitar riff, representing clarity and peace amidst the labor.]
Verse 3
My hands are scarred and bleeding, but the foundation is set,
I’m paying for the future with the ghost of my regret.
Every "no" and every "fail" was a brick inside the wall,
Teaching me to stand up straight and how to break a fall.
I stop asking "Why this shape?" and I stop asking "Where?"
I just trust the Master’s blueprint and I lay the stone with care.
The demons started screaming, but now they’ve lost their breath,
'Cause you can’t scare a man who’s no longer afraid of death.
Bridge
[The music stops. Only a distant, echoing hammer-clink remains. Rock’s voice is steady and low.]
"I step back from the labor...
I wipe the dust away...
And I see it now...
The temple wasn't the stone...
It was always me."
It’s a fight, fight, fight for who I’m meant to be
Until the Master’s finished work is me.
