Heinrich Rudolf Hertz (22 February 1857 – 1 January 1894) was a German physicist who first conclusively proved the existence of the electromagnetic waves proposed by James Clerk Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism. In every electromagnetic field theory or microwave engineering book that I studied, there is a section in the introduction dedicated to Hertz. Just like Mozart did in music, Hertz 37 year short life sparked the significant revolution in modern science and engineering history. The value of life is not about how long we live and what kind of attention we received in social media, but it is about what we will leave for the future generation!
