With hourglass broken,

there's no second chance.

To turn back the sand that has fallen.

My safe haven is captured,

by the bright eyes of those I know.

it's my own reflection that's the matter.

Let feathers fall upon my shoulder,

by the angel that'll raise me high.

High above this feeling,

before I'm much older.

My palms are up please heal me,

Another moment, my journey through life.

A man wrote a good book, it told me to savor.

I pray I nurture, endure and strive,

But I fear it may be in my nature.

I get home from work, to live inside a cage,

To feel trapped, in rage, Lord give me a mage.

To heal my heart.

This isn't my life's last page.

I need to grow a sage, step outside, engage.

I shouldn't wallow in the shame I've grown,

But forgive me if it's all I've ever known.
