A subtle fragrance scatters in the corner,

Not as fragile and delicate as a rose.

Tiny, yet gathered close together,

Having graced so many weddings and parties as a backdrop,

Before quietly retreating alone.

Light shuttles through the vast pitch-black,

Refracting through the sheer window curtains,

Illuminating the water glass upon the desk.

Crossing through how many millennia,

A miracle lands in this old room.

So distant, yet always finding its focus,

Unafraid of being crushed by loneliness.

Adorning the grand halls,

Bringing out the brilliance of the stars.

Withered and fading,

Quietly awaiting the dawn.

No matter how humble, these gathered whites can form a wonderland.

Looking up at a sky full of stars,

Shining into the break of dawn.

Through time and the journey,

Silently listening.

Sweeping across light-years, finally completing the vast expedition.

When the stems cast away their moisture,

Drying out and shedding their frail frames,

They stamp a solid fortress behind.

Like a certain stubborn companionship,

Gains and losses, triumphs and defeats,

Not competing for gorgeous, dazzling beauty,

Only waiting for time to leave its verse.

Like poems scattered across the universe,

Persisting together in the dark.

Paving the grand scenes,

Casting aside old names.

Through ups and downs, cloudy and clear skies,

Igniting ten thousand stars,

Crossing ten thousand years of ice.
