Title: Cathedral of Shadows

The night peers in through crystal panes,

With golden eyes, so cold, arcane.

Through shadowed glass she softly creeps,

To watch the place where silence sleeps.

Beneath a vaulted, gothic dome,

The candlelight has made its home.

And golden tables, veiled in mist,

Reflect a world where dreams resist.

They drink in shadows, numb and red,

No pulse within, no word is said.

A sigh, a whisper, frozen breath,

They toast the stars and dance with death.

And the organ plays like a funeral bell,

In a cathedral where lost spirits dwell.

Crimson ghosts in a drunken trance,

Waltz in silence, a deathly dance.

Soft music drips from silver pipes,

Like angels mourning wasted lives.

Their tears fall down in threads of light,

And bless the damned throughout the night.

In golden rings and burning glass,

They feel the centuries that pass.

(Pierced by longing, cold and wide...)

(With hearts the moon cannot abide...)

The organ plays in sacred gloom,

Where flowers wilt and roses bloom.

This is the feast of those who yearn,

For warmth, for light — that won’t return.
