In the morning after rain

When the ocean smells so strange

There’s a memory of pain

And the dogwood blossoms wet against the glass

In the stillness of the grass

In the faces of the past

I dreamed about a woman

A tattooed Gypsy queen

Her hair was blonde

Her eyes were green

It was a fever dream

Do you still believe

Of a life you haven’t known

On your cool pale skin

Where the moon shines in your room

After morning has arrived

When the shadows have survived
