Climbing where the brave men stand

One wrong step, a fall too far

Changed the wiring in this man

Doctors gave it different names

But the pain don’t care what they call it

Storms inside my restless head

Like thunder trapped inside a wallet

Dreams turn dark and nights get loud

My world shakes without a sound

I laid my truck keys on the table

Had to stop driving this town

My wife holds tight to shaking hands

Protects me from the storm inside

She’s the angel God assigned me

Walking every step beside

Cancer knocking on my door

But the seizures only grew

Won the battle with the cancer

I can feel His hands around me

Even when I can’t see the plan

Blind faith keeps my feet moving

Even when the road goes dark

I feel Him in the quiet moments

Like a fire inside my mind
