七（なな）つの光　雲（くも）を裂（さ）きて舞（ま）う

天地（あめつち）の声　今ぞ甦（よみがえ）る

From heaven’s sea the emperor dragon rises,

Seven lights cleave the clouds in dance.

It rules the wind and breathes forth life,

The voice of heaven and earth revived anew.

二章　黎明（れいめい）の契（ちぎ）り

黄金（こがね）の鱗（うろこ）　朝日（あさひ）に耀（かがや）き

山（やま）は震（ふる）え　鳥（とり）は祈（いの）る

古（いにしえ）の誓（ちか）い　今（いま）も息（いき）づき

雷（いかづち）となりて　天（そら）を裂（さ）く

Golden scales gleam in morning sun,

Mountains quake, and birds in prayer.

The ancient vow yet breathes,

Breaking heaven’s stillness with thunder’s cry.

赤（あか）き焔（ほのお）ぞ　王（おう）の証（あかし）

竜（りゅう）の眼（まなこ）　未来（みらい）を映（うつ）す

Crimson flame, the mark of kings,

Illuminates the land and banishes shade.

It rends the dark and lights up hope,

Its eyes reflect the unborn dawn.

五章　水鏡（みかがみ）の誓（ちか）い

深湖（みずうみ）の面（おも）に　影（かげ）を映（うつ）し

雫（しずく）を雨（あめ）と　空（そら）に返（かえ）す

「人（ひと）の心（こころ）や　清（きよ）きか」と問（と）い

波（なみ）は答（こた）えず　ただ揺（ゆ）るるのみ

Upon the deep lake’s mirrored face,

It casts its shade and rains as tears.

“Is man’s heart pure?” the dragon asks;

The waves reply with silent sway.

夜（よる）の帳（とばり）　黒月（くろづき）昇（のぼ）る

魂（たましい）試（ため）され　光（ひかり）迷（まよ）う

竜（りゅう）は静（しず）かに　牙（きば）を隠（かく）し

真（まこと）の勇（いさ）を　待（ま）ちわびる

Under the veil of night, the black moon climbs;

Souls are tested, lights wander lost.

The dragon hides its fangs in peace,

Awaiting courage pure and true.

The wind falls still, the sky turns clear;

The dragon smiles and soars to heaven.
