Formed by two brothers and a pair of high school mates, Australian garage-rock outfit The Rackets had rock and roll baked into their DNA. Guided by their father, a seasoned producer for the legendary pub-rock giants Thunderballs, the quartet spent their early years cutting their teeth on scattered local gigs and overseas travels. They finally locked in their raw, swaggering sound in 2003 when they regrouped to record their debut album, Looking Down the Barrel. The lead single "Dirty Secret" far exceeded any local expectations. Fueled by blistering guitars, stomping rhythms, and an undeniable retro-rock groove, the track quickly caught the ear of international promoters. When the legendary rock veterans Black Jean Moe tapped The Rackets to open their highly publicized final US tour, the exposure catapulted the Aussie boys to global stardom. "Dirty Secret" exploded up the American charts, cementing the band as the high-energy heroes of the 2003 rock revival.
