Lyrics
(Verse 1) [Ska-punk rhythm starts, trumpet fanfare] The daughter of the strongman stood upon the marble steps She had her daddy’s temper, and his very worst regrets He'd spoiled her ultra-rotten, since her first demanding wail Now she expects results that would make the future fail She wanted every fortress built, three weeks before the stone Was quarried from the mountain, or the plans were even known She stamped her foot, she felt the rage, the lack of instant praise She needed someone punished for their slow, pathetic ways! [Exaggerated, squeaky shoe tap sound effect]
(Chorus) [Tempo briefly drops to 160 BPM, bass line becomes more melodic] She's storming out to read the law, the Riot Act she’s told The words are meant to terrify, courageous and bold She checks her scroll for fiery phrases, a ping, a final curse But all she sees are squiggly lines that make the terror worse She reaches for the sentence that says, "Execution now!" But all the paper holds are shapes her brain can't disallow No courtier dares to tell her that the sign's a simple sketch For "Watch Your Head: Active Avalanche Season," near the rocky stretch!
(Verse 2) She thinks about the marble arch she ordered yesterday The one that vanished when she blinked, or so she liked to say She yells about the anthem that wasn't properly sung Or why the royal puppies haven't yet learned to speak her tongue She wonders if the workers grasp her monumental might Or if they’re just distracted by the brilliant, blinding light “I should have hired faster men,” she mutters with a roar “Not people who expect to start before they're at the door!” [A quick, high-pitched trumpet squeak]
(Bridge) [Rhythm drops to just the staccato guitar upstrokes and bass, quiet, nervous energy] Still shouting at the wooden sign she holds up to the crowd The words she cannot understand are yelled out just as loud She points to every crooked line and screams about the cost Of slowness and defiance, of chances that are lost She’s trapped inside her ignorance, her rage has made her blind She misses the snow falling from the cliffs behind...
(Outro) [Tempo snaps back to 190 BPM, chaotic noise, snare rolls frantic] She sees her life in fragments, a slideshow of her fits The petty rages, golden toys, the temper that just quits “I should have been obeyed then!” she bellows at the stone [Voice is strained and panicky] “Not had to come out here alone, not been upon my own!” “I should have been much faster, not waited for the light!” But the mountain just responds with a crushing, dreadful might. [Music ends with a final, massive, reverberating crushing sound effect and a quick record scratch.]
