You talk in circles

Tracing smoke

Coffee’s cold between our hands

You change the subject

Change your coat

But not your plans

Your eyes skip past me to the floor

Like they forgot what they were for

Bend the light

Hide the truth

Turn my shadow into proof

Say it’s fine

Swear you care

While you’re vanishing in glare

Bend the light

Hide the truth

Till I can’t recognize us two

If you’re gonna leave the room

At least don’t dim the wound

Your phone lights up

You turn away

Whole constellations in your palm

You laugh too loudly at my pain

Then ask for calm

You say I’m seeing things that aren’t

But my skin memorized your heart

You frame the story so you win

Crop out the parts where I gave in

Call it “just a phase” again

But I remember how it’s been

Every flicker

Every fade

Every silent

Careful blade
