I stayed up late just once

Not twice

The clock was mean

But the stars were nice

My friend’s a mom when she starts to scold

But she’s got a heart that’s made of gold

She says

“You need your rest”

I say

“This night’s the best”

I don’t wanna sleep

No no

Let the moonlight glow

Oh oh

We’ll laugh till the morning comes

Dreams can wait

I’m not done

Her love is loud

It’s bossy too

But I know she means it

She always proves

We’re a pair like mismatched socks

One’s all rules

The other rocks

I don’t wanna sleep

No no

Let the moonlight glow

Oh oh

We’ll laugh till the morning comes

Dreams can wait

I’m not done

Pillows call my name

I run away

The night’s too young

Let’s make it stay

She rolls her eyes

But I see her grin

A little trouble never did us in
