Verse 1

Son, remember: Patience is your strength and your shield against anger.

Wisdom will protect you from unworthy desires.

Modesty will help you remain humble in wealth.

Humility will be your friend in the face of loss.

Let truth be your adornment,

And compassion your faithful companion.

Verse 2

Son, remember that words hold hidden power.

A harsh word can wound or kill.

A kind word is like amrita, saving from death.

By harming others, a person destroys their own soul.

Be kind to every living being.

Verse 3

If you want peace to reign on our planet,

Be just, surrounding people with care.

Let sages and brahmanas enlighten the people,

So that every person may know the whole world is their family,

Children of the one God — and peace will reign.

ॐ The Mahabharata, one of the greatest epics of world literature, tells the story of the noble Pandavas and their cousins, the Kauravas, whose rivalry led to the great Kurukshetra War. Among its many heroes is Bhishma — the wise and invincible grandsire of the Kuru dynasty, revered for his vow of lifelong celibacy, his honor, and his unwavering sense of duty.

✨ As the war came to an end, Bhishma lay gravely wounded on a bed of arrows, awaiting the sacred moment of his departure from this world. Knowing that his time was near, Yudhishthira, the eldest of the Pandavas and now the rightful king, approached him seeking guidance. The battlefield had fallen silent, and the grandsire’s words carried the weight of a lifetime of wisdom.

🌸 Bhishma spoke of patience as the greatest strength and the surest shield against anger. He reminded that truthfulness is the crown of all virtues, that compassion ennobles the heart, and that forgiveness brings lasting peace. Directing his words especially to those who stand on the threshold of life’s end, he urged them to let go of resentment, to embrace clarity of thought, and to anchor the mind in the eternal.

ॐ Махабхарата — одно из величайших эпических произведений мировой литературы — повествует об истории благородных Пандавов и их двоюродных братьев Кауравов, чьё соперничество привело к великой битве на Курукшетре. Среди её героев — Бхишма, мудрый и непобедимый глава рода Куру, прославленный своим обетом безбрачия, честью и непоколебимой верностью долгу.

✨ Когда война подошла к концу, Бхишма, смертельно раненный, лежал на ложе из стрел, ожидая священного момента своего ухода из этого мира. Зная, что его время близко, старший из Пандавов и законный царь Юдхиштхира подошёл к нему за наставлениями. Поле битвы погрузилось в тишину, и слова Бхишмы прозвучали как итог всей прожитой им жизни.
