Lyrics
Verse:
I got the rhythm, I got the sound,
But something’s missin’—ain't grounded, ain't profound.
A heart full of echoes, but the weight won’t show,
Tryna sing the blues with a soul I don’t know.
Pre-Chorus:
Oh, I wish I could feel it, that pain in my veins,
But my story ain’t heavy, no thunder, no rain.
Chorus:
I can hum a tune, I can play a part,
But the soul’s not there when it leaves my heart.
I tried to dig deeper, but it won’t stay true,
Guess a white boy’s blues just won’t do.
Verse:
Took a stab at jazz, but it ain't my fight,
Those tangled notes just never sat right.
So here I am, stuck between the grooves,
Lost in the music I can't improve.
Pre-Chorus:
Oh, the notes are all right, but the fire’s all wrong,
Guess the soul I’m chasing was never my song.
Chorus:
I can hum a tune, I can play a part,
But the soul’s not there when it leaves my heart.
I tried to dig deeper, but it won’t stay true,
Guess a white boy’s blues just won’t do.
Bridge:
I’ll leave jazz alone, let it be what it is,
Won’t fake no tears for the love I can’t give.
But I’ll keep strumming, searching for my shade,
Maybe my blues ain’t the kind that get played.
Outro:
So here’s my truth, raw and unrefined,
A love for the music, but not the right kind.
I’ll keep singin’ anyway, even if it’s askew,
These awkward little blues, they’ll have to do.

The inspiration came from the song "Don't Look Back" but as there are no styles submitted I did go with what I discerned was in there in parts. I left out the swing style, because I did work with it before
