Woke up, showered, sun barely in the sky,

Steam on the mirror, something drifting by.

A presence lingers just beyond my doubt,

Neck ribbon hiding where her time ran out.

Then a Koloa duck waddles in with pride,

Puffs out his chest like he’s ready to ride,

Morning chaos, but it’s all on my side.

Ohhh, every day they follow me around,

Ghastly faces with the sweetest hearts in town.

Keeping guests at ease and the farmstead too,

Life feels easy with my spirit crew.

Step outside, tire flat on the old sedan,

But the Mudlings already drew up a plan.

Clay sloughing off them like a second skin,

Worms wriggling round while they burrow in.

Gearbox ghosts all lift out a spare,

Cleaning up the tire while it’s taking air.

They grunt and lift while I sip my tea,

Bolts tightened quick with a swampy glee,

Then they sink back down, that’s how they leave.

Ohhh, every day they follow me around,

Ghastly faces with the sweetest hearts in town.

Fixing up the place and watching over too,

Life stays smooth with my spirit crew.

Back home late, shoes kicked under the bed,

Centipedes ripple out their many heads.

Legs clicking soft as they sweep the floor,

Dragging my slippas right to the door.

Then the Fu Dog, yoked and loud,

Lumbers in slow like a walking thundercloud.

Muscles stacked high but his eyes all soft,

Drops my socks like he’s showing them off.

Creepy and cute, that’s just what they do.

Ohhh, every day they follow me around,

Ghastly faces with the sweetest hearts in town.

Closing up the inn like we always do,

Life rolls on with my spirit crew.

Yeah, life rolls on with my spirit crew.
