You're turning 50,

I find it hard to express everything I feel and to give you a good gift.

But I need you to know how grateful I am for you,

It was never my intention; I was just a kid trying to find my way, a little twisted.

You never turned your back on me,

And that love means everything to me!

I think back to the times you stood up for me,

remembering the difficult days at school,

When everything felt unfair,

You stepped in.

Your strength made me feel seen and valued.

Always reminding me that I deserve love and respect.

You showed me your strength but also your vulnerability,

Sometimes your words came out sharper than you meant,

But those moments don’t erase the warmth of your hugs,

Or the laughter we shared over silly jokes that lifted me

You keep telling me how proud you are,

Your belief in me gives me the strength, tears in my eyes knowing that you will always believe in my words.

Today marks your 50 years, and I’m 18,

Thank you for being the incredible dad I always needed, and always will need.

I know there will be times when we clash, like in the past,

Moments filled with frustration and misunderstanding.

But through and through my love for you remains constant,

Even when I stumble or say the wrong things,

You will always be my dad, and I cherish you.
