The ghostly galleon

I thought I saw an old ship a sailing in the sea

But when I blinked my eyes a second time, it disappeared from me

I swear that ghostly galleon was as real as you and I

One minute it was there but in the next it was gone, and from the corner of my eye

What was this strange phenomenon? I am left feeling mystified, after I had witnesssed that ghostly galleon listing on its side

Perhaps I was haunted by a maritime happenstance? Did that grand old vessel sink and was it shipwrecked, in a long ago spiritual romance?

Well I know what I saw on that misty moonlit night, a shadowy spectral as spooky as can be, that somehow vanished from my sight

And now as I am contemplating my eerie epic vision in the ocean, I can remember watching the waves, lapping up over the ship deck from such a stormy, forceful motion

Oh mercy me I do believe that I witnessed that ghostly galleon capsizing, and right before my very eyes

And all of this actually happened as I was lying in the warmth of my cozy bed, somewhere in my dreamy fantasise…
