Night sits quiet on the river line

Old Man steady with the tiller tight
JJ grinnin’ like it’s his night
Buck just leanin’ watchin’ the flow
Lines in the water, nothin’ to show

Air so still you could hear a pin
Whole world holdin’ its breath again

Then JJ shifted… just a little bit slow…
That’s when we knew… something was about to go

One bad move and the whole thing broke
Hit like a wave we couldn’t outrun
Killed the vibe and cleared the fun
Three in the boat… barely afloat…
JJ just dropped what shouldn’t be spoke

Old Man coughed and turned away
Buck leaned back like “no damn way”
River stayed still but the air went wrong
Like somethin’ showed up that don’t belong

JJ laughin’ like it’s a game
But we all knew exactly who to blame

Nobody talkin’… eyes waterin’ slow…
We all just sittin’… trapped in the flow

That moment hit and the night went broke
Fish disappeared, lines went dead
Even the river turned its head
Three in the boat… no antidote…
JJ just changed how the story’s told

Bubbles risin’ under the side
Old Man muttered “that ain’t right”
Buck just shakin’ his head in shame
JJ still laughin’ like he won the game

Didn’t catch nothin’, not one bite
River went silent the rest of the night
Radio crackled then gave it up
Even the crickets said “that’s enough”

We drifted back with nothin’ to say
Just that moment that wouldn’t fade

Three in the boat… three in the boat…
One wrong move and it all got smoked
Night went sideways, story got wrote
Ain’t nobody forgettin’ what JJ broke
Three in the boat… still tryin’ to cope…
Legend was born from that one note
