Lyrics
Hi! Thank you so much for your interest and passion for the music.
I just want to gently clarify something very close to my heart:
Though I personally do not belong to an Indigenous Taiwanese tribe, I’m proud to be Taiwanese ..... and many of my dear friends are from Indigenous communities with Austronesian roots.
This song is not me speaking for them
It’s me standing beside them.
It’s a heartfelt tribute, created with love, respect, and the hope of sharing their beautiful traditions .... like millet wine (kavava), rituals, and rhythms.....with the world.
I know that this song alone may not fully capture the depth and spirit of Taiwan’s Indigenous cultures.
But it’s something I truly wanted to try.....as a way to honor, appreciate, and introduce their stories to a wider audience through sound.
Through music, I want more people to hear their voice, feel their spirit, and learn about the richness of Taiwan’s Indigenous heritage.
It’s not appropriation ..... it’s appreciation.
And it’s an open invitation to listen with heart.
Thank you for understanding and dancing with us.
With respect,
Maybe

[Intro]
*Ka tū te ihiihi, ka tū te wana!*
"This ain't a prayer—this is a roar."
[Verse 1]
Let the haka stomp,
Let the spirits talk.
[Chorus –
I rise – for the ones before me
I roar – with the soul inside me
Millet in my blood, Haka in my bones
Thunder feet, wild and bold!
Boom like gods, lose control!
[Bridge]
He tangata, he tangata…
Raise your feet, slam the ground,
[Final Outro]
Rain on the graves,
"Maybe… your song is the way home."
