I’m Not a Magical Girl
Create a 2:30 track at BPM 160 blending emotional Post Punk with girl vocals. The sound should be raw, fast, and heartfelt — fusing the driving rhythm and angular guitars of Post Punk with an expressive, youthful tone. Begin with an 8-second intro of reverb-heavy guitar chords, deep bass, and snare buildup before vocals enter. Build a punchy rhythm with live drums, sharp hi-hats, and a gritty bassline. Layer jangly guitars, chorus effects, and atmospheric reverb for depth and urgency. Girl vocals should sound passionate, honest, and slightly melancholic — mixing defiance and vulnerability. Add echo and saturation for a live analog feel. Alternate between tense verses and emotional choruses, capturing frustration and empowerment. The track should feel dynamic and cinematic — expressing the heart of a modern heroine, strong yet conflicted, between rebellion and destiny.

Verse
I’m not a magical girl
I’m of samurai blood
Being a magical girl?
I don’t want to be one
I’m a samurai
They told me
to become one
Yuna the ninja—way too eager
Amy the geisha—looking delighted
Turns out my mom
was a magical girl
I held my head in shock
Chorus
I’m not a magical girl
I’m a samurai
Monsters came to attack
In the end, I became one

I’m Not a Magical Girl — Episode 1
“This is a replay of the nightmare from twenty years ago! Monsters are attacking Japan!”
That was all the news videos on my smartphone were showing.
Above the Tokyo Skytree, the sky was wrapped in a dark, eerie mirage.
Across the country, devil-like creatures called “monsters” were attacking.
It sounded like something out of a movie or anime—except this time, it was real.
“Chisato! You’ll be late for school!”
Mom called from the kitchen, along with the smell of toast and sweet rolled omelet.
I slipped into my school blazer, shouldered my backpack, and headed out.
My name is Chisato Shimamura, seventeen. I’m a second-year in high school, born into a samurai family.
On the wall of our family dojo hangs an heirloom sword passed down for generations.
Dad has taught me swordsmanship since I was little.
Thanks to that, I’m the vice-captain of our underdog kendo club—total pain, by the way.
◇ ◇ ◇
“Twenty years ago, not even the Self-Defense Forces or the police could fight the monsters on equal footing!”
After kendo practice I came home and was chomping on an ice cream.
“Only Magical Girls could save Japan. We are awaiting their return!”
The news anchor said it with theatrical intensity.
Waiting for magical girls? Get real. This isn’t an anime.
I sighed, and Mom called to me.
“Chisato, come to the dojo. We need to talk.”
◇ ◇ ◇
“What is it now?”
I knelt on the wooden floor of our dojo, the faint smell of sweat and old wood in the air.
Mom sat upright across from me.
“You are a Magical Girl. You must save Japan.”
“Huh? Ahaha.”
I couldn’t help laughing.
“Mom, what are you even saying? Did you binge too many old anime on a subscription?”
“I’m not joking, Chisato. You are a Magical Girl. Twenty years ago, I was one. You’ve inherited it.”
She stood, and the air thrummed.
Rainbow light filled the room, glittering particles drifting through the dim dojo.
Before I knew it, Mom had transformed—a real Magical Girl in a dazzling outfit.
“With our family blade Kotetsu, you will defeat the monsters. That is your duty.”
“I—I don’t want to be a Magical Girl! You’ve got to be kidding!”
“This isn’t a joke. You were born to save Japan. The government already knows about you.”
“Mom, are you… okay?”
Before I could argue, she thrust her phone at me. On the screen, a news video played:
“Monsters are attacking Japan! Many people are injured!”
Okay, okay—I get it. Japan’s in deep trouble.
But I’m just a high-school girl from a samurai line.
Right now, the prefectural kendo tournament matters more to me than fighting monsters.
“People are getting hurt, Chisato. Please—become a Magical Girl.”
Mom smiled sweetly. Her eyes were not smiling.
“I—I’m not a Magical Girl!”
I shouted, but her smile didn’t waver. This is bad… she’s going to steamroll me.
“You’ll have teammates, by the way.”
“T-Teammates?”
“Yes. Yuuna Misaki from a ninja family, and Eimi Kiriyama from a geisha lineage. They’ll be transferring to your school.”
“Don’t tell me… they’re Magical Girls too?”
“Ding-ding! Correct.”
She said it cheerfully.
“They’re the daughters of my former Magical Girl teammates.”
I held my head. I’m not a Magical Girl, I told myself.
But in the end—I really was.
And together with my teammates, we were apparently Japan’s last hope.
Our battle against the monsters was about to begin.
