In my mother's eyes, there's an entire world

The scent of her hair, soft and curled

Where my fingers used to twirl until I fell asleep

So many nights in her arms, holding me deep

It's in her hug where life slows down

It's in her silence that I pour it all out

She listens to me without a word

And protects me, even when I'm unheard

And how many times did she say:

"Don’t do that, or I’ll tell your dad!"

I’d freeze up just at the thought

That things might really go bad…

But when Dad came home, it was all sweet grace

Punishment turned to a warm embrace

All the chaos from my wild little day

Became a joke he’d laugh away

Even when Mom was losing her mind

Love found a way to be kind

Their love is like no other I’ve known

It built the heart that I call home

In the living room, we’d make a mess

Kicking balls, breaking frames — no less

Mom would shout with that tired glare:

"Like father, like son — it's only fair!"

And our laughter filled the air

Time stood still, free from care

It was chaos, it was play

It was love in every way

Now I’ve grown, but I still come back

To the arms that hold me on the right track

In Dad’s embrace, I’ve learned to forgive

In Mom’s soft eyes, I’ve learned how to live

'Cause when Dad walked in, it was only love

Every scolding just rose above

And Mom, with that exhausted gaze

Still wrapped me up in tender ways

If I’m who I am, it’s from all I’ve been through

With the love they gave so pure and true
