„Old Friend of Mine”

**[Intro – whispered male baritone + airy female harmonies over glitch FX, reversed pads]**

Hey… (hey…)

It’s been a while…

Old friend… of mine…

**[Build 1 – Afrohouse groove, layered sub-bass, stuttered vocal chops]**

We ran through skies (skies…),

Chasing dreams we couldn’t hide (couldn’t hide…)

Every secret, every fight (fight, fight…)

Every night that felt so right…

**[Pre-Drop – glitch FX, whispered ad-libs, tension risers]**

And I wonder, do you feel it too?

The echoes of me, echoes of you…

Some bonds are never really gone…

Old friend… we’ve been holding on…

**[Drop 1 – dubstep infused festival explosion, gospel-soul adlibs, bouncing multi-layered bass]**

Old friend of mine! (mine!)

Even when the world pulled us apart… (apart…)

Old friend of mine!

You still live inside my heart…

Through the years, through the tears…

Old friend… old friend of mine!

**[Verse 2 – rhythmic stuttered chops + afro percussion, airy pads, glitch FX transitions]**

Remember nights we stayed awake (awake…)

Talking ‘bout the choices we would make (make, make…)

Every laugh, every little lie (lie…)

Moments we let the world pass by…

Though life has changed, I feel it here…

Your memory’s close, your voice so clear…

Old stories painted in our minds…

A little lost… a little blind…

But still… you’re my… old friend of mine…

**[Pre-Drop 2 – rising pads, reversed vocal chops, whispered ad-libs]**

And I wonder, do you feel it too?

The echoes of me… echoes of you…

Some bonds are never really gone…

Old friend… we’ve been holding on…

**[Drop 2 – even heavier dubstep + afrohouse hybrid, gospel choir layers, wide stereo FX, stuttered vocal chops echoing]**

Old friend of mine! (mine, mine, mine…)

Even when the world pulled us apart… (apart…)

Old friend of mine!

You still live inside my heart…

Through the years, through the tears…

Old friend… old friend of mine!

**[Bridge – atmospheric, melodic breakdown, soft male baritone + airy female whispers, distant gospel echoes, glitch FX]**

We may have wandered far and wide…

But our memories never died…

Through every night, through every sign…

You remain… old friend of mine…

**[Final Drop – extended festival-style, bouncing bass, layered pads, multi-layered vocal chops + gospel explosion, sidechained stuttered FX]**

Old friend of mine! (mine, mine…)

Even when the world pulled us apart…

Old friend of mine!

You still live inside my heart…

Through the years, through the tears…

Old friend… old friend of mine!

**[Outro – whispered male/female harmonies fading with reversed FX and pad swell]**

Old friend…

I hope you know…

You’ll always be…

Old friend of mine…
