What a day to be alive

How sad for any life
To be lost

On a day
Like today

When we could join
In the joy

In another’s laughter
Or a bird’s song

Uncosted

Is that loss of life

Delivered by a knife
That’s lost in our strife

It just shows.
How low
Human life can go.

How mad must we be
To still believe
