Of the Sun

What a day to be alive

How sad for any life

To be lost

On a day

Like today

When we could join

In the joy

In another’s laughter

Or a bird’s song

On a day

And at such a cost

Uncosted

Unvalued

Is that loss of life

Just part of the every day

Delivered by a knife

That’s lost in our strife

It just shows.

How low

Human life can go.

How mad must we be

To still believe

In leaders such as we

And in an eternity

Where we will be free
