¹Expression derived from Piedmontese dialect, in which it means "distraught", but which, when Italianized in the 1970s, had the more restricted meaning of "distraught with boredom and left without any hope and will to find solace". Thankfully the Pixies' arrival seems to provide a much needed distraction.
