Come closer and hear my allegory,

Of a man with an enduring story,

Robin of Locksley he was called,

But was known as Robin Hood the outlaw.

In the beautiful forest of Sherwood,

Lived a man brave and good,

Robin Hood was much adored,

Because he robbed the rich and gave to the poor.

With his band of merry men,

And the love of maid Marian,

Robin hatched a daring plan,

To save the shire of Nottingham.

Robin Hood and his merry men,

Outsmarted evil again and again,

He refused to be a pawn,

To the machinations of Prince John.

Robin was steadfast and true,

And over time his legend grew,

He stood up for the downtrodden,

And his story will never be forgotten.

Robin fought in the crusades where he warred with bow and blade.

But, when he returned to his land, a corrupt prince stole his home by command.

Prince John taxed the small folk heavily and employed a sheriff who was deadly.

Outraged by this injustice, Robin gathered men to fight for justice.

"A master of the bow."

"Robin’s fame did grow."

"And when he let his arrows fly."

"They always hit the bullseye."

He entered an archery contest in disguise to win a golden arrow as the prize. The small folk he did entertain when he split an arrow in twain.
