**In many faiths, there is a shared belief in guardian angels—heavenly beings who watch over and protect our lives. Whether one has lived a life of wrongdoing or of kindness toward others, there remains a belief in the power of blessings—of merit accumulated in the past—which continues to guard and guide. In Buddhism, for instance, the concept of karma from previous lives plays a crucial role. Even if one commits much wrongdoing in this life, the good deeds of former lives can still shield that soul from harm.

As for us Christians, especially Catholics, this belief takes a deeply personal form. In the eastern province of Thailand where I was born, there stands a small church—our family church through generations, from the time of my grandparents until today. Its name is Church of the Guardian Angels (วัดอารักขเทวดา), and it holds a sacred place in my heart.

Now that I am advanced in age, I feel called to compose a song—a humble offering for this church and the guardian angels who have watched over my life, sustained me through every trial, and kept me safe until now. I have children of my own, and someday they will bring me to this very church once more, to lay me to rest in its cemetery. And there, beneath the wings of angels, I trust I will remain—still blessed, still embraced by the prayers of heaven.**

โอ้ องค์เทวา ท่านมาคุ้มครอง

นำทางคันลอง ปกป้องเราไว้

ท่านช่วยรักษา นำพาดวงใจ

ไม่ให้หลงไป ในแดนภัยพาล

ขอความมีชัย เกิดในดวงจิต
