The Snowmen's Dilemma
Snowman complaining
Lyrics
Well, we used to worry 'bout the sun,
How spring would come and spoil the fun
Just a quiet fade, a noble drip,
An end with grace, a peaceful trip.
And squirrels, let’s not forget the pests,
Gnawing our carrots, painful tests.
I lost my nose last week, I swear,
A raccoon took it... then feasted out there.
But now look, just past the hedge,
Snow torsos piled upon a sledge.
One’s got sticks where no sticks go,
Another’s face, all packed with snow!
He used red paint for the blood and mess.
Why’s a child like that, not more but less?
He built a gallows from a rake,
Now a snowman's dangling above a stake!
It used to be we feared the thaw,
The soft betrayal of natural law.
Now we dread that little brat
With winter boots and a woolly hat.
He sculpted one with his arms straight up
Another with a hairdryer and a begging cup
One stands still under that leaning tree
With a face that looks terrified to me
That snowman's just lost his head.
Now it lies on the snowy bed
This ain’t the winter I once knew.
Frank got skewered by a javelin throw
We used to melt in peace, old friend.
But now we fear how we might end.
Stabbed with a broom? Crushed by a tire?
Lit on fire near the firepit pyre?
I say we roll, just flee this yard.
Head for the woods, before we're scarred and marred
But we stand here, frozen, stuck
Can’t move an inch, just out of luck.
Just frozen blobs in mortal dread,
Wishing for clouds and cooler heads.
The kid's room's dark, he's sleeping tight
I guess we'll survive, one more night
So we’ll stand here, stoic, still and white,
Through sick kid’s play and freezing night.
If we must melt, then melt we shall.
But please, not sculpted as entrails, pal.
