Lyrics
Verse 1
The elder's words were woven from the ancient forest's breath.
"Your roots are in the community, or you will court your death.
To sever from the living wood is to invite a colder guest.
The magic that you seek alone will put your soul to test."
She scoffed at their "small-minded" fears, their "tribal", simple ways.
And left to find a "purer" truth in solitary, stony days.
Chorus
And in the cavern's silent heart, a voice began to speak.
Not from the moss or flowing stream, but from the mountain's bleak.
"It is not service, it is *will*. The power is your own.
Forge your own destiny, and sit upon a lonely throne."
And with each whispered, proud command, a light began to fade…
…the emerald in her elven eyes, surrendered to the jade.
Verse 2
She learned the spells of binding force, the runes that make things break.
Her magic grew in potency with every soul she'd take.
No longer healer of the glade, or weaver of the vine,
But a storm of raw ambition, a blight upon the line.
The forest that she once called home, she saw as just a prize…
…a kingdom for the taking, reflected in her eyes.
Chorus
For in the cavern's twisted heart, the voice had sealed its claim.
"It is not service, it is *will*. You need no other name.
Forge your own destiny, and sit upon a lonely throne."
And with each act of cruel command, the light was overthrown…
…the emerald in her elven heart was replaced by cold, hard stone.
Bridge
They came for her not with the sword, but with the living wall.
A weave of roots and shared intent, to break her will and stall.
The elder spoke, "We will not kill the lesson you contain.
To take a life ends learning. We will break you of your chain.
You sought a power all your own, a solitary art…
…Now feel the greater power of a hundred, single hearts."
Outro
Behind the bars of living wood, beneath the sun she'd spurned,
The echo of the spirit's lie is slowly, slowly turned.
She watches how the branches, interwoven, make one tree…
…And learns the strength she thought she'd built, was just fragility.
Music fades into a distorted, echoing memory of the forest spirit's whisper, which is then silenced by a chorus of serene, synthesized forest sounds.
