Surreal, experimental, avante guard, rumba, A frantic, baroque-prog-metal overture. Imagine a harpsichord playing a demented Bach fugue that collapses into a 7/8 time signature driven by a fuzzy, overdriven bassline and syncopated, technical drumming. The male vocals are a conspiratorial, half-whispered litany in the verses, exploding into a strained, desperate tenor in the English choruses. A ghostly female choir provides ethereal, Gregorian-like counter-melodies, chanting nonsensical phrases in the background. The instrumental bridge is a chaotic collage of carnival music, dissonant string stabs, and sped-up tape loops of political speeches, before a final, bombastic chorus brings the piece to an abrupt, unresolved halt on a dissonant chord. It’s the sound of a beautiful, intricate clockwork mechanism gleefully tearing itself apart.
