Lyrics
New Wave intro with keyboard and theremin
I walk into my local market
Fruits and veggies shining everywhere
I've gone to buy some food for dinner
It's cool inside - yeah, I haven't got a care
All of a sudden I see someone coming toward me
It's a woman with a rattling shopping cart
I instantly feel myself shying away from her
Even though we're still ten feet apart
She looked a bit bedraggled
Like she'd worn those clothes all night
Her cart was filled with cheap wine and booze
And then she looked me right in the eye
And she said...
I'm going in the wrong direction
I have been for a while
If you know what's good, you'll just stay out of my way
I'm headed for the checkout line
As she got closer I could see
That she was a bit younger than me
Much younger than she appeared to be
Yeah, she lived at a high velocity
It looked like she had seen it all
But she wasn't waiting for the ax to fall
She pushed her cart, yeah, and she stood tall
To judgers, she says "(BLEEEEP) you all"!
Brief jagged keyboard and theremin solo
Ohhhh, she looked a bit bedraggled
Like she'd worn those clothes all night
Her cart was filled with cheap wine and booze
And then she looked me right in the eye
And she said...
I'm going in the wrong direction
I have been for a while
If you know what's good, you'll just stay out of my way
I'm headed for the checkout line
Yeah, I'm going in the wrong direction
I have been for a while
If you know what's good, you'll just stay out of my way
I'm headed for the checkout line
