The Widow of Velvet Ashes
{MALE VOCAL} A multi-part gothic rock opera with theatrical male vocals (Mr. Doctor style) and shifting musical backgrounds. The piece should be divided into dramatic sections with different tempo, mood, and instrumentation. Part I (Intro): A slow, melancholic opening with soft ambient textures, distant piano, and whispered vocals — like a memory. Part II: The tempo increases sharply — powerful rock drums, electric guitar, and rhythmic, theatrical vocals. Fast-paced, like a ritual in motion. Part III (Interlude): The music drops into silence. A solo violin enters, joined by soft strings and a low, spoken monologue — introspective and dark. Part IV: A fast folk-inspired section with tambourines, hand drums, acoustic instruments, and layered harmonies — upbeat but eerie. Part V (Climax): A full-blown gothic metal explosion — heavy guitar riffs, double kick drums, organs and choirs. The vocals rise into shouting and screaming. Outro (Part VI): Fade into a soft string section, a solo

Lyrics
There she stands…
In veil and venom.
Her kiss
Is a requiem in silk.
She dines alone in crumbling halls,
On candlewax and widow’s wine.
Her mirrors whisper - none recall
The night she wed the shrine.
She walks on ashes, dressed in vows,
With velvet flames beneath her brows!
She howls where saints once dared to kneel
The Widow’s touch is forged in steel.
She cursed the moon to bleed and bend,
Her laugh -a dirge, her love - pretend.
No man can flee, no soul return,
She dances slow while cities burn.
Ssshh…
She’s behind you.
She’s already inside.
Marry me in flame!
Velvet burns, and heaven falls,
She chants within cathedral walls!
No priest can bless, no choir sing,
The Widow reigns - a godless king!
Ashes drift on bridal lace…
The kiss you begged… now scorched your face.
Hush.
She smiles.
And all the bells fall silent.
