When I am gone, the world won’t stall,

It might be tomorrow, or years from now.

No one can tell, no one at all,

Time never warns us, won’t slow down.

The street will sound the way it did,

The sky won’t ask where I belonged.

My name will fade from daily lips,

From passing thoughts, from moments gone.

So what stays after me?

Not words I meant to say,

Not the plans I left unfinished,

Not the debts I couldn’t pay.

What stays after me

Is smaller than it seems -

A look, a habit, a quiet choice

That lives inside someone’s dreams.

Not the titles, not the years,

Not the victories or fears.

But how I listened when you spoke,

How I stayed when something broke.

Every kindness left unseen,

Every light that might’ve been.

So what stays after me?

Not the shape of who I was,

But the way I changed a moment

Without knowing that I caused.

What stays after me

Is never carved in stone -

It’s how a room feels warmer

Even when I’m gone.

Maybe I’ll never know,

Maybe that’s the point.

Maybe… it’s the children.

So what stays after me?

Not property or name,

But the weight of my regrets,

And the wishes that never came.

The trace of how I loved,

And the truths I never lived,

The echo of the man I was,

And the life I couldn’t give.
