(Ice candy)

[The intro starts with a single piano note, then guitar arpeggios are added.] [Chorus Chord Progression: C-D-Bm-Em / C-D-G-Em] Warm, emotional J-pop ballad with a gentle and intimate band sound. Clean electric guitar arpeggios weave softly with light acoustic strumming. Mellow electric piano provides warmth and space, supported by smooth bass and soft, steady drums. Medium tempo (around 80–90 BPM) with a swaying, cradle-like rhythm. Nostalgic and bittersweet atmosphere with a sense of tender hope. Soft, airy vocal mix with clear acoustics and subtle 3D space. Delicate strings rise in the final chorus, adding depth and emotional lift. A reflective piano solo bridge with a calm, heartfelt tone.

【English version】

A summer night not long ago. An ice lolly.

A corner where family members were gathered. The sound of wind chimes.

I took a bite for my sister as well.

I uttered words I'll never forget.

The next morning, the sky was cloudless, and I believed in endless time.

I want to forget, but I don't want to forget. The day the light went out and took everything away. I want to forget, but I don't want to forget. The day I couldn't say I was sorry and my smile was closed off.

Calling out your name through the ruined streets, I chase after my memories, but only the wind blows. The vestiges of that day disappear into smoke, and I just keep waiting for a voice that never answers.

Black tears. Falling from the sky. I still thought it was just a continuation of a dream

I want to forget, but I don't want to forget. The burned-in shadows burn my heart every day. I want to forget, but I don't want to forget. I can still picture your voice and your figure.

With shaky steps, the seasons change, I put my hands together on new smiles, and the wishes weave from child to grandchild, I look up at the sky, holding an unfading shadow in my heart.

I won't forget, yes, I won't forget. I'll bring you an ice lolly. I won't forget, yes, I won't forget. Next time, let's eat together

Comment

Apparently, Dad bought an ice cream because it was unusual for the whole family to be together that night.

My sister was a little young at the time, so she fell asleep first. Grandma was probably about middle school age then.

So Grandma volunteered to have the ice cream.

Back then, there weren't freezers like there are today; what we had were iceboxes, which were like boxes where you put large pieces of ice you bought and kept food cold.

The ice cream melted. So she ate it. And that was it.

Later, though, my sister woke up, ate it all, and made a fuss about her ice cream being gone. Apparently, they got into a huge fight. "It's your fault for sleeping," she coldly told her, and they never spoke again.

Then, August 6th arrived. Grandma had left early to help out at a factory far from the city.

Then, you can imagine what happened next.

I heard that the impact of the atomic bomb was so great that even though they were far from the city, glass shattered and pierced their bodies.

Afterwards, they searched for their family, but when they returned, they found everything cold. Many people, including relatives, were missing. Time passed without any sign of their sister either.

Grandma was 84 when she told me this story.

She tearfully told me that she had always regretted it.

I'm sorry to change the subject, but one day I was staying at grandma's house by myself, and when I told her I was going to the Peace Memorial Museum, she told me about her sister. "If you go, please see her face," she said. She said she was no longer blind and couldn't go to see her. She asked me to pass on the message on her behalf, saying she was sorry.

The Peace Memorial Museum has a section where you can view photographs and names of people whose bodies were never found, and it was there that I saw my grandma's sister's face for the first time. She was a child, much younger than I was at the time. A cute child's appearance. There are no bones, and no grave. But many people are certainly enshrined here. It was a strange feeling to pray inside the Peace Memorial Museum.

"Only those who want to do it should do it." That's all I think about war. I believe that involving unprepared people is inhumane, whether it's war or anything else.

Well, I'm sorry for writing so much in such a clumsy way, even about things that have nothing to do with the lyrics. I don't know if anyone will read this, though (lol).

So, this is the end of my personal statement of my feelings!

P.S. If anyone is offended or upset by what they read, please let me know! I'll delete it immediately. (;^ω^)
