Lyrics
[Intro]
Am I a poet with a shattered dream?
OR JUST A WANDERER LOST IN BETWEEN!!!!
I see the shadows they whisper my name....
BUT I'LL KEEP WALKING IT'S ALL JUST A GAME!!!
[Instrumental Intro]
[BREAK]
[GUITAR RIFF]
[INSTRUMENTAL]
[INSTRUMENTAL]
[Verse]
When I wander all alone through city lights
Poplar fluff fills the night like fireflies
Squeaking tires on the pavement sing my tune
Midnight shadows whisper secrets to the moon
[Verse 2]
Do I carry burdens or just write my lines
Ink like blood flows from heart to mind
Indecision keeps me lost in tangled thoughts
Poetry's the only map I've ever sought
[Chorus]
Am I a dreamer or just lost in my head
Following whispers of the words unsaid
Solvin problems buried deep inside my chest
Or just wanderin round never findin rest
[BREAK]
[GUITAR RIFF]
[INSTRUMENTAL]
[INSTRUMENTAL]
[Verse 3]
City alleys feel alive and yet so still
Every corner offers stories
Every thrill
Lonely wanderer
I listen to their cries
Pen and paper
My companions by my side
[Chorus]
Am I a dreamer or just lost in my head
Following whispers of the words unsaid
Solvin problems buried deep inside my chest
Or just wanderin round never findin rest
[BREAK]
[GUITAR RIFF]
[INSTRUMENTAL]
[INSTRUMENTAL]
[Bridge]
Poplar fluff it dances like snow in June
Squeaking tires hum a forgotten tune
Indecision’s tug won’t let me be
In this city maze
Can I ever break free?
[Outro]
Am I a poet with a shattered dream?
OR JUST A WANDERER LOST IN BETWEEN!!!!
I see the shadows they whisper my name....
BUT I'LL KEEP WALKING IT'S ALL JUST A GAME!!!
[long instrumental ending]
[slow final dialogue]
[narrator reciting in a very low, rough
male voice, with power and pain]
Sometimes some people come up to me.. They're like the ghosts from my past life... "How are you?", "Where have you gone, what's wrong with you?" I answer them like an automaton. I turn on the internal answering machine:
"I'm fine,
I'm fine.
I'm fine.,
I'm fine.
I'm fine....
I'M FINE...
(I'M FINE)
I'M FINE!!!!!
(I'M FINE!!!)
I'M FINE!!!!!
(I'M FINE!!!)"
