The lights are bright, but cold as stone

We drift through streets, forever alone

Mom and Dad wear porcelain masks

Yet hollow eyes betray the past

Silver roads that lead to rust

I’m lost in gray, yet bound by trust

Beneath a sky, so vast and blue

I feel the shadows pushing through

Why do they hide what they truly see?

This perfect world, a hollow deceit

I watch the screen, it paints the lies

A flawless life, but muted cries

Still, I wonder deep inside

Why their joy fades, their hope denied

A perfect world they swear is true

But I feel it crumbling through

Windows sealed with secrets kept

I ask, but answers intercept

Dad’s voice fades, a distant scream

His shadow haunts my quiet dreams

Lights stay bright, but shadows fall

And whispers echo down the hall

Beyond this veil, what could it be?

The grown-ups hide their truth from me

Where did he go? Why won’t they say?

I feel him slipping day by day

The world so bright (yet hides its tears)

(Beneath the light, it breeds our fears)

I used to try, I used to dream

But nothing here is what it seems

A perfect world

The lights grow dim, night drags on

I call for Dad, but he’s long gone

The voice persists, a hollow flame

And now I wonder… are we part of the game?
