Vokaler Protest™

Lyrics

Hey loves, little Vocal Protest™ disclaimer from me: this isn’t an attack on anyone, okay? 💜 I love how many of you really take time, listen, write, feel… without you, Tarja wouldn’t even be here. This song is more like a sigh against this fast like-and-swipe culture. If you feel a bit called out, take it as a hug, not a punch. Thank you to everyone who stays, listens and is real. 🖤

I do my thing and then I open the follow tab,

see new songs from people I really like, no cap.

Fifteen plays, thirty likes and not a single word,

just flames, little hearts, done, on to the next sound that’s heard.

Some drop ten tracks all in one night,

like feelings were a checklist you can rush through on the side.

I sit there and quietly think: hey,

these are hearts in here, not just numbers on a display.

I’m lucky, you write me long and real,

so it hurts for those who sing and no one tells them what they feel.

This is my Vocal Protest,

for everyone who gives a lot and almost no one reads the rest.

Stay a minute with one song,

not just click and then straight to the next tone.

This is my Vocal Protest,

against like-and-go and all that follow-for-follow madness.

If you stay and write once what you feel,

you’re way more to someone out there than you yourself can see as real.

I know this too: three likes in one “minute”,

new follow, no “hello”, just hope that the numbers win it.

Then nothing ever comes back all year,

profile full of stats, but inside it’s pretty empty here.

I follow where I can really feel you near,

where your words and your music are allowed to stay with me right here.

I listen close, sometimes write more than just one line,

because I know how it feels when you land and there’s no space that’s really mine.

And when I walk through all your songs at night,

I see so much light in you and wonder why it’s barely in anyone’s sight.

This is my Vocal Protest,

for everyone whose art gets lost in algorithms like a glitchy test.

Stay a bit with one sound,

let it sink in, even if it’s not perfect, just stick around.

This is my Vocal Protest,

but to my own lovelies this is also a huge thank-you text:

you really listen and tell me what hits you deep -

without you all this would only carry half the weight it keeps.

I know we all have so little time,

job, family, thousand chats, the head already miles ahead in line.

But if you let a song play out instead of skipping quick,

for someone else that can be way more than just background noise while you type so slick.

I don’t click blind just ’cause that’s what people do,

I listen and write when something hits me hard at two a.m. too.

And I wish that all of us could be a bit more this way -

real words, real ears, not just rushing through the day.

This is my Vocal Protest,

a quiet call of “stay here a moment”, nothing more and nothing less.

Let’s go back to listening, not just counting,

not only with our fingers, but with hearts that are still mounting.

This is my Vocal Protest,

for all who stand in shadow and still burn honest.

And for the crew who writes me so many lines with care -

you’re the reason why my light here doesn’t vanish into thin air.

This is my Vocal Protest,

but in the end I’m just grateful you’re truly here, not only stress-test.

You, who shares this to the last line with me -

you’re the reason why my raven keeps on singing, not hanging silently.
