Sleep Beneath Our Lanterns

Hush now, little wandering soul,

Lay your tired heart with mine,

Circus lanterns softly flicker

Underneath the pines.

Graves bloom black with midnight roses,

Fog rolls slow through iron gates,

Valarian hangs silver constellations

So the lost can find their way.

And the ravens keep their watch tonight,

While wolves sleep by the fire,

No broken soul walks here alone,

Not beneath our choir.

Sleep beneath our lanterns glowing,

Let the graveyard sing you home,

Under stars and circus shadows,

You will never walk alone.

Langley’s circus holds the silence,

Soft as moonlight on old bones,

Close your eyes, dear heart, and listen…

Even ghosts deserve a home.

The carousel turns slow at midnight,

Painted horses creak and sway,

Little ghosts dance through the tombstones

Like children lost to yesterday.

The sky is stitched with silver fire,

Constellations carved in blue,

Every shattered piece you carry

Still belongs beneath this moon.

If the world outside grows colder,

If the daylight feels too loud,

Come find us where the deadflowers blossom,

Where the strange are loved out loud.

Take my hand beyond the headstones,

Past the tents and velvet skies,

Here the darkness does not harm you…

Here the darkness lets you hide.

Sleep beneath our lanterns glowing,

Hear the nightbirds softly call,

Graveyard hearts and circus dreamers

Built a home to hold us all.

Langley’s circus burns forever,

Through the fog and through the storm,

So rest your soul beneath the constellations…
