I know my conscience is my judge,

I am the defendant and the plaintiff.

My life is a mess

For tormented hearts.

My sin is like a snowball,

It's rolling down a steep mountain.

Like a rat, I'm running away

To a different world.

But even in a place where there's no happiness,

I'm alone with myself.

I can't find an answer:

Where is the salvation from my troubles?

How can I save my soul,

How can I protect my heart?

So that the thread of life does not break,

The lights didn't go out.

So that in my last hour

Should I say: "I didn't live in vain!

I tried to be myself,

Like the evening dawn."

Знаю, совесть - мой судья,

Я - ответчик и истец.

Жизнь моя - галиматья

Для измученных сердец.

Грех мой - словно снежный ком,

Вниз летит с горы крутой.

Словно крыса я бегом

Убегаю в мир иной.

Но и там, где счастья нет,

Я с собой наедине.

Не могу найти ответ:

Где ж спасение от бед?

Как мне душу сохранить,

Как мне сердце уберечь?

Чтоб не рвалась жизни нить,

Не погас чтобы свет.

Чтобы в час последний мой

Мне сказать: "Я жил не зря!

Быть старался сам собой,

Как вечерняя заря".
