## Walking Together: Songs for Solidarity ##
This is an entry in the Walking Together songwriting contest.
The WEF estimates there are over 150 million people without homes worldwide. This project is aimed at supporting efforts to help people "made of potential" out of homelessness in co-operation with Homeless Entrepreneurs.
Verse 1:
In the backalley of societies gleams
The hidden paths where memories are dreams
Under moonlight rays she crawls into her home
Her hard fought place, the carboard dome.
Pre-Chorus:
She watches the people walking idly by
And no one listens to her desperate cry
When she begs for warmth they will only shout
„You don't belong, get yourself out!“
Chorus:
She's a stray cat, chased from the sun,
A little bit of warmth could help her run.
Don't turn away, don't shut her out,
A bit of kindness could erase the pout.
Your loving hand would give her hope,
From this unwanted life, help her elope.
Verse 2:
Her tangled coat, those broken, lifeless eyes,
Tell of her struggles, how she gets demonized.
Her world feels so small, they wound her with names,
Yet she stays strong, refusing their cruel games.
Bridge:
What if the walls came down for a while?
What if a hand reached out with a smile?
A touch of compassion, a simple start -
Could mend the wounds within her heart.
Outro:
So when you walk by in the alley's gloom.
Remember, every soul needs a room.
A small act of kindness, a chance to belong—
Can turn the stray - into a song.
