Style prompt:
Dark ambient in Phrygian mode, with airy Mbalax-style log drums and Afrobeat percussion.
Soft synth pads, marimba, and Rhodes textures layered gently, with deep bass and airy vocals creating a nostalgic atmosphere.

[操作画面の理解]
LabsからMILO-1080を開きます。最初は圧倒されますが、触りながら慣れていけばOK。

[Intro]
So I posted a little experiment with MILO-1080 the other day (with a track attached), and honestly, I thought it would just quietly flop.
But surprisingly, quite a few people checked it out.
So I figured I’d break down a super minimal workflow — just enough steps to get “something that sounds like a track.”
If you’ve used a step sequencer before, most of this will feel familiar.
If you haven’t touched a DAW at all, this is more for you.
If the character limit prevents me from explaining everything clearly, please leave a comment.

[Overview]
The idea is simple:
You make a short loop, then use it as a base and expand it into a full track using the COVER feature.
It’s almost like cooking with pre-made ingredients.
You can do most of this for free, but exporting WAV is currently behind a paid tier — so this guide goes up to that point.

[Track structure example]
First 7–8 seconds: loop made in MILO-1080
After that: full track generated via COVER

Style:
Dark ambient in Phrygian mode, with airy Mbalax-style log drums and Afrobeat percussion.
Soft synth pads, marimba, and Rhodes textures layered gently, with deep bass and airy vocals creating a nostalgic atmosphere.

[Getting used to the interface]
Open MILO-1080 from Labs.
Yeah… it looks intimidating at first. Totally normal.
Just poke around a bit and get used to it.
Avatar tip
There’s a pixel-art avatar editor in the second row — it’s basically a character creator.
Mess with it a bit. Helps you get comfortable with the UI.

[Top row basics]
PLAY: start playback/ FILL: fill-in (honestly unclear sometimes)/ BPM: tempo/TAP: fine adjust
/ Swing: groove (leave at 0 at first)/Volume/ Patch A–J: 10 slots
Copy / Save / Load / WAV export

[Second row]
SEQ: main workspace
MIX: mixing
SONG: arrange patches
(Turn CHAIN ON in SONG to export in sequence)

[Sound layers (rows)]
Each row = one sound source.
Main tools:GEN: AI generation/ CLIP: upload audio/SYN: built-in synth (easiest)
VOL: volume / Grid: click to toggle notes

[Making a simple loop]
Looks like a lot, but you’ll only use a few things.
Start with ambient — it’s forgiving.

[Quick generation]
Set BPM to 70–80
Select Patch A
▶Second Step
・Select SEQ
🔴Open IDEA
 Dark Ambient (anything is fine)
  BOTH
  Key: Any (e.g., C)
→ GENERATE IDEAS (try a few times)

[Fix just the drums]
Top 3 rows are drums:
Row 1: Kick
Row 2: Hi-hat
Row 3: Snare

Rough balance is enough.
Open SYN then clicK INIT on right upper
Choose them for Top 3 rows
Kick / Deep Kick
Closed hi-hat
Snare

[Export WAV]
Make at least two patches (A + B)
Copy A to B, or regenerate

Go to SONG
Keep only A and B
Turn CHAIN ON
Export WAV.

[Final step: turn it into a track]
The loop might sound a bit flat.
That’s fine.
Once you run COVER or sample-based generation,
it can transform pretty dramatically.
That’s where the magic happens.
