But in that flash of sudden white,

A single moment, sharp and true,

now all I see is shades of you.

The colours flip, inverted hue.

The darkness looking back at you.

You're the after-image in the frame.

I see the years, the depth of field.

Most visions fade into the grey,

they wash out in the light of day.

But you are burned onto the glass,

a vivid scene that will not pass.

I walk the streets and see the signs

of how the aperture aligns.

I want to live inside the view

and spend my time engaging you.
