Remixed a track from my friend Baker 🎧
The moment I heard the original, I instantly thought of some lyrics I wrote a while back. It was actually meant to drop during Dragon Boat Festival (yep, it was a Xu Xian-themed song 😂), but I never found the right melody for it—until now.
Baker’s tune gave it life. It finally feels complete.
There are two versions here— Which one speaks to you more? 💙

“Fate, Ever Shifting”
Lantern light flickers through paper walls,
Softly tracing the glow between her brows.
That night, our vows felt longer than the river’s flow—
Yet the world called me ordinary,
Unworthy of gazing at the stars.
The lines in our palms—were they already tangled in fate?
I held her hand, but couldn’t push past destiny’s gate.
If love is a mistake,
Who dares rewrite what’s already written?
I once swore, love could conquer all.
But when mountains shift and rivers fade,
Why does fate refuse to bend?
If deep love is just a passing mist,
Can I still wait for her return?
The bell beneath the tower echoes on,
The wind steals the words I never spoke.
She turned back—just for a moment—
Like petals falling after a thousand years.
I called her name,
But only moonlight answered.
I believed love could defy the heavens,
Yet her tears fell without a sound.
If fate cannot be undone,
Is there anything I can still hold on to?
The tower’s shadow fades into the night,
Time slips into the verses of a sutra.
Was it love, was it karma, or was it a mistake?
If there’s another life—
Can we forget the rise and fall of this one?
