Scene Description:
Ōkuninushi’s elder brothers, the Yasogami (Eighty Gods), return to the scene.
They find the white rabbit healed and praising the youngest brother.
Their pride is pierced by the rabbit’s prophecy: “That one, the kind one, shall rule the land.”
Mockery erupts.
The brothers belittle the rabbit, dismiss Ōkuninushi, and plot vengeance.
But the sky shifts—the wind no longer listens to their laughter.
Style of Music:
Court-style satire (gagaku turned dissonant), with descending flute scales and taiko-drum ridicule
