Lyrics
The Columbine High School shooting occurred on April 20, 1999 in Littleton, Colorado.
I am going to keep this brief, I was at school when the Columbine High School shooting occurred. It rocked myself and our school to the core.
I wrote this a day or two after it happened, not as a song, but as a part of my coping process. I have only recently gone back through my journal, new tears were shed. I decided to turn that journal entry into this song...
I truly hope it conveys all my feelings I went through back then and again after re-reading my past thoughts and feelings... It was a dark time to live through.
Rest In Peace... 🥀
I cry again for your loss...

Footsteps echo in the hollow space
Every creak feels like a chase
Eyes dart left
The clock won’t stop
The bell screams loud
Then it drops
Who holds the rage
Who hides the flame
A fragile mask
A deadly game
Shadows in the halls
Who will it be
A friend
A stranger
Or is it me
Silent screams behind these walls
Waiting for the world to fall
The desk a shield
The books my cage
Words on the board blur into rage
Laughter cracks like breaking glass
This fragile calm will never last
Who writes the rules
Who breaks the line
Is it fate
Or some design
Shadows in the halls
Who will it be
A friend
A stranger
Or is it me
Silent screams behind these walls
Waiting for the world to fall
