The Sky a New Moon Unseen, hidden by heavy, widespread clouds.
No light, not even a streetlamp, not a single streak of illumination.
The darkness was so profound one could not see their own feet.
It was a suffocating void, a fog-like blackness.
A gloom so deep the eyes could never adjust.
The utter dark made it impossible to take a single step.
It was blacker than the black seen when closing one's eyes.
Ghayhab (Arabic Origin: The hidden, the invisible)
Ḥulūka (Arabic: Extreme darkness, pitch black)
Tamas (Sanskrit: Darkness, ignorance, one of the three Gunas alongside Rajas and Sattva)
ntuneric (Romanian: Darkness)
Caliginous (English: Covered in thick mist, dark, dim)
Umbra (Latin/English: Shadow, the deepest part of a shadow)
The diverse facets of darkness were also slightly different from this.
It was not a color.
It was not a terrible darkness.
It was not the opposite of light.
Yet, the sound seemed to be a little different.

The echo of the sound expressed the world....
That was the sole guide in a world blacker than black.
空には新月、厚く広がる雲に隠されて。
光はなく、街灯一つもなく、一筋の輝きすらない。
その暗闇はあまりにも深く、自分の足さえ見えないほどだった。
それは息苦しいほどの虚無、霧のような漆黒。
目が順応することなど決してないほどの深い憂鬱な闇。
その完全な闇へは一歩も踏み出すことすらできなかった。
それは、目を閉じたときに見る黒よりもさらに黒かった。
