Endless chatter filled the air,

Empty thoughts tossed everywhere.

Words fell out, loud and fast—

A mask I wore, hoping it would last.

Rational lies to comfort the soul,

Wandering the edges, never whole.

Dreaming escapes, again, again,

Through people, through drinks—through silent pain.

Not a drop touched my lips tonight,

Yet I was drunk in borrowed light.

Stories spilled with burning heat,

Old regrets we dared repeat.

And the rain, the rain finally ceased,

But something in me found no peace.

At my heels, a longing stayed,

In the turning steps I made.

끊임없이 지껄여 댔다.

떠들었다.

그만한 눈속임으로

자기를 숨기고 있었다.

끊임없이 합리화 시켜가며,

위안을 삼고있었다.

가장자리만을 서성거리며,

또하나의 도피를 꿈꾸었다.

술과 술과 사람속에서

한잔도 마시지않고 취하고있었다.

모든 뒷 이야기를 들추어 내어

벌써

열을 띠고있었다.

내리던 비가 멎었다.

돌아서던 발길에,

아쉬움이 채였다.

그냥 그렇게들 떠나들 가는 시간.
